Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
As people are our most important asset, we are committed to achieving a high level of occupational health and safety performance.
We are very proud of our safety achievements
Perseus is committed to achieving a high level of occupational health and safety performance because people are one of our most important assets. All of our operations and activities endeavour to comply with the international Standard ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems as well as the OHS regulations and Labour laws of our host countries.  Providing relevant and suitable facilities, equipment, resources, training and leadership is essential to keeping our people healthy and safe, and implementing effective management systems enables us to continually monitor and improve our OHS performance.
Perseus has recently increased its focus on risk management across the sites. Risk Registers have been reviewed to ensure that all hazards have been captured, documented risk controls remain in place and effective, and new risk mitigation measures have been identified in an effort to avoid or further reduce the risk to the business.
All of our operating sites also have a medical clinic for the use of our employees and contractors, with local doctors and nurses and expatriate paramedics available on site to attend to general health needs and medical emergencies. The Edikan Site Clinic is run in partnership with International SOS, and the Site Clinics at both our Sissingué Gold Mine and Yaouré Gold Project are staffed by a MEDICIS Doctor.
