The Role

Perseus Mining Yaoure is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Surveyor to assist in the pre-development and active operation of the Underground project at Yaoure Gold Mine.

Reporting directly to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Underground Senior Surveyor will be responsible for leading the Underground Survey Department.

• Deliver all survey activities within the project scope safely, on schedule, and within budget
• Prepare clear and accurate weekly and monthly progress reports
• Collaborate with the Technical Services team to support the timely development and delivery of mine plans
• Ensure the timely delivery of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc survey plans as required by the Technical Services Superintendent
• Monitor, track, and report overbreak performance and trends
• Lead and support the Underground Survey team by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations through position descriptions and KPIs
• Maintain effective communication with site personnel to promote alignment with the goals and objectives of the Underground Project
• Mentor, train, and develop junior and national survey team members, ensuring familiarity with company standards and underground mining operations

About You

A technically strong underground survey professional with proven leadership experience in underground mining environments.

• Tertiary qualifications in Survey or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in underground survey, including senior roles
• Strong command of Surpac
• Experience using Deswick
• Demonstrated ability to train and develop national workforce
• Experience in underground mine development projects

It would be beneficial if you have:

• French language skills
• Previous experience working on projects with Africa

Where You’ll Be Working

Yaouré Gold Mine is Perseus’s third operation, located in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa. The mine commenced production in December 2020 and achieved Commercial Production in March 2021. In September 2023, the operational life was extended through to at least 2035.

The mine is expected to produce approximately 210,000 ounces of gold annually over the next five years, with an average AISC of US$1,104. Perseus is expanding operations with the upcoming Underground Project, Côte d’Ivoire’s first mechanised underground mine, which is scheduled to commence in mid-2025 and extend the life of operations.
