The Role

Perseus Mining is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor Trainer to join our Yaoure Gold Mine in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, on a 3 weeks on, 6 weeks off roster. In this role, you will lead and develop our mechanical maintenance and boiler making teams, ensuring that high standards of safety and competency are upheld and sustained.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include supporting the planning and coordination of major process plant shutdowns, refining Standard Operating Procedures, overseeing critical tasks and providing technical expertise for process plant enhancements in addition to:

• Developing training matrixes, Conducting Training Needs Analysis and documenting training and assessments conducted.
• Mentor and facilitate succession planning within the mechanical maintenance and boiler making team.
• Review the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.
• Assist in sourcing relevant and cost-effective training service providers.
• Collaborate with management to prepare budgets for training programs.
• Lead initiatives for safe working practices and contribute to policy development.

About You

With trade qualifications in a mechanical discipline, formal training and assessment credentials, and extensive experience in a training role within the African mining sector, our ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 10 years of mechanical maintenance experience in operating processing facilities.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in mechanical maintenance and boilermaking.
• Experience working in remote and overseas locations, ideally West Africa
• Proficiency in developing and implementing competency-based training programs.
• Familiarity with crushers, conveyors, bulk materials handling, and mineral processing equipment.
• Formal qualifications in crane operations and rigging.
• Experience managing a small mobile equipment fleet (cranes, forklifts, etc.).
• French language skills are a plus.
