The Role
Perseus Mining is seeking a Group Manager, Risk to join our dynamic and expanding organisation. This role will have full accountability for the Insurance, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework of the Group.
Serving as the key point of contact for all insurance and risk related activities, the Group Manager, Risk, will work to develop and design control improvements in addition to periodic reviews of systems, policies and procedures.
This role provides support to both our corporate office in Subiaco and our African-based mining sites. It requires periodic travel to Africa four times a year, with each trip lasting between two to three weeks.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and as a key member of the Finance team you will:
- Develop and present risk transfer strategies and insurance outcomes, manage insurance captive oversight.
- Prepare and execute the 5-year Internal Audit Plan, develop the annual audit schedule, and conduct audits across the group.
- Identify and mitigate risks, track progress, and report to the Group Executive and Audit and Risk Committee.
- Ensure compliance with the ERM framework, facilitate risk reviews, and present risk reporting to the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Implement ERM systems, support the Chief Financial Officer and Group executives, and manage internal audit actions and improvements.
About you
With one direct report, the ability to cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders and a proactive mindset, our ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, in a similar position in a multinational extractive industry organisation
- Previous experience in reporting and presenting to Audit and Risk Committees of ASX listed companies.
- Accounting/Commerce degree, and membership with an Australian Professional Accounting body
- Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills, and a high level of proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Strong personal integrity and professionalism, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively across the organisation.
Desirable
- Experience with Pronto
- French language skills
Where you’ll be working
This position is based in Perseus’s Subiaco office, with a corporate team of roughly 40 employees and growing. You’ll join a small corporate team, allowing for close interactions across all departments and levels of the business.
This role supports our operations across Africa and involves traveling to the region several times a year.
