Perseus Mining is seeking a Geology Superintendent to join the CMA Underground Project, at our Yaoure Gold Mine, located in Côte d’Ivoire in West Africa
This role will oversee grade control, mine geology, and reconciliation functions, ensuring alignment with Perseus Mining’s operational and regulatory standards. Working a 6 weeks on 3 weeks off roster and reporting to the Yaoure Underground Project Manager, this role will:
- Supervise and support Geology personnel, ensuring adherence to operational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage staff performance through goal-setting, feedback, and structured training, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain procedures for effective grade control, mine geology operations, and mine-to-mill reconciliation, while ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company standards.
In addition to a BSc in Geology or Geological Engineering, our ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years specifically in underground gold mining operations.
- Technical knowledge in mineral resource estimation and reconciliation methodologies
- Advanced English speaking and writing skills
- Proficient user of MS Office suite
- Knowledge of contemporary technology applied to open pit mining
- Strong organisation, planning, negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills
- Good working knowledge of geology-related QA/QC standards and methods
- A strong financial acumen with the ability to track costs, maintain budgets, and ensure cost-effectiveness in grade control and mine geology operations.
- Competence in procedural knowledge, including initiating, documenting, and maintaining procedures.
- Proficiency in data management to monitor and ensure accuracy of geological data.
Located within West Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Yaouré Gold Mine is Perseus’s third operation, commencing production in December 2020. Achieving Commercial Production in March 2021, Yaouré’s operational life was extended to at least 2035 in September 2023. The mine is anticipated to yield approximately 210,000 ounces of gold annually over the next five years, with an average AISC of approximately US$1,104
