The Role
Perseus Mining is seeking a Capital Accountant to play a crucial role in overseeing financial aspects of our Business Growth initiatives, Capital Reporting, and Development projects. You will work closely with teams across Technical Services & Studies, Exploration, Commercial Management, and Project Development, support departmental operations and contribute to projects within the finance department. Reporting to the Group Management Accounting Lead you will:
- Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Generate monthly cost reports and collaborate with managers to track costs and analyse variances.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts and projections for Growth projects.
- Build strong relationships with project managers, operational teams, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and information exchange.
- Provide financial expertise and guidance for decision-making on special projects.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function and contribute to the implementation of best practices.
About you
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and Finance or equivalent.
- Professional Accounting Qualification (CA, CPA, etc.) desired.
- Willingness to undertake external training and work outside normal hours as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required for company business.
